Germany’s Daniel Neises and Markus Mößner won the 2015 European Mazda technician contest (MazTech) yesterday at Mazda Space, the company’s event hub in Barcelona. As Mazda’s best in Europe this year, the team of two technicians, who hail from dealerships in Bitburg and Hechlingen am See respectively, will also represent Mazda Motor Europe at the MazTech World Final in Hiroshima together with their second and third-place counterparts from Sweden and Russia.

A total of 20 teams from across Europe took part yesterday, having qualified after winning regional competitions held during the past 12 months by Mazda country organisations and independent distributors. Each duo faced demanding troubleshooting and repair tasks at Mazda Space, working against the clock on vehicles like the Mazda MX-5, Mazda2 and Mazda3.

“As technicians and service providers, MazTech gives us added incentive to strive for excellence by continually honing our knowledge and skills,” explained Dirk Weiss, Mazda Motor Europe’s director of Customer Service European Technical Support. “This helps us maintain consistently exceptional service quality, which in turn heightens customer satisfaction as well as dealer and brand advocacy.”

Mazda ranked first overall among car brands in Germany in the J.D. Power Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) published in September. Based on extensive surveys of vehicle owners, the CSI offers unique insight into the service experience at franchised dealers.
