Mazda Motor Europe has appointed Alain Groult to the position of Managing Director of Mazda Motor BELUX (Belgium + Luxembourg), effective immediately.
Mr. Groult, 52, joined Mazda Motor Europe in August 2005 from General Motors Europe as Director Product Marketing, and more recently had responsibility for Brand Strategy and Marketing Communications. During his tenure in Leverkusen, he was responsible for developing the successful product plans behind the launch of several key models, including the current Mazda2 and Mazda6. Before coming to Mazda, he held several executive positions in the automotive industry including Marketing Director for Renault in the U.K, Sales Director for Opel, and Head of Sales and Marketing for Audi in France.
“Alain’s broad experience of the car business and network management,” said Philip J. Waring, Chief Operating Officer of Mazda Motor Europe, “will help him to build on the successful operation initiated by the Mazda BELUX management team since the launch of the national sales company in 2007, and develop further the Mazda brand in Belgium and Luxembourg.” ###
