Mazda mourns the loss of Philip Waring

It is with deep regret that we announce the death of Philip Waring, Chief Operating Officer of Mazda Motor Europe.

Phil Waring passed away this week after a courageous battle with cancer.

"Our entire company is saddened by this news," said Jeff Guyton, President and CEO of Mazda Motor Europe. "Phil was a great professional and at the same time a very good friend. His personal contribution to the success of Mazda in Europe will never be forgotten. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. It was our great privilege to know him and work alongside him."

Phil joined MMUK as Dealer Operations Director in 2001, and was a founding member of that business. He became Managing Director in June, 2003, and moved to Mazda Europe as VP Sales for the region in 2005.

He became Chief Operating Officer Sales & Marketing of MME in January 2009.
